Pegasus Reading Series is a monthly series presented by WordSpace showcasing writers in the North Texas area and beyond. Named Best Poetry Night by the Dallas Observer in 2015, Sebastian Paramo and Courtney Marie host.
Doors open at 7PM and show starts at 7:30PM.
John Andrews’ first book, Colin Is Changing His Name, was a finalist for the 2015 Moon City Poetry Prize and is forthcoming from Sibling Rivalry Press in June 2017. His work has appeared in Ninth Letter, Redivider, The Boiler, Columbia Poetry Review, and others. He holds an MFA from Texas State University where he served as managing editor for Front Porch Journal. Currently, he is PhD student at Oklahoma State University and an associate editor for the Cimarron Review.
Lauren Brazeal teaches in Dallas, where she practices her terrible Spanish and often wears cowboy boots. She is the author of two chapbooks, Zoo for Well-Groomed Eaters (Dancing Girl Press, 2016), and Exuviae (Horse Less Press, 2016). Her first full-length collection, Gutter, will be published by Yes Yes Books in 2018. In her past, she’s been a homeless gutter-punk, a resident of Ecuador’s Amazon jungle, a maid, a surfer chick, and a custom aquarium designer. A graduate of Bennington College’s MFA program in writing, her work has appeared in journals like Forklift Ohio, DIAGRAM, Smartish Pace, Barrelhouse Online, Painted Bride Quarterly, and Verse Daily.
Glenn Shaheen is the author of the poetry collections Predatory, winner of the 2010 Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize and runner up for the 2012 Norma Farber First Book Award, and Energy Corridor, both published by the University of Pittsburgh Press, and the flash fiction chapbook Unchecked Savagery, published by Ricochet Editions. His work has appeared in Ploughshares, The New Republic, Subtropics, and elsewhere.
Nadia Wolnisty is a poet, memoirist, flash-fiction author, and creative non-fiction writer. Her poetry, short stories, and essays have appeared in Mad Swirl, Do Not Go Gentle, University Scholar, Apogee, La Alarma, Essay Daily, Haggard and Halloo, and My Favorite Bullet. Her poetry and artwork was featured in a zine machine (www.WhiteRockZineMachine.com), an Art Uprising print anthology Desolate Country, and is runner-up for the 2017 Emily Stauffer Prize. Her debut chapbook, Manual is available from Cringe Worthy Poetry Collective. Her illustrations for James Barrett Rodehaver’s chapbook time travel for daydreamers is forthcoming, also from Cringe Worthy Poetry. She can be found performing around Dallas with Mad Swirl, Common Company, Pandora’s Box, Bonehouse, and Poets on X+.
