*Laurie Anderson has rescheduled her performance due to unforeseen circumstances. Her new date is 10.23.14.
This remains a largely sold out show! The remaining 15 tickets due to her rescheduling will be available August 13. Heads Up: Laurie has also added  four Meet/Greet tables to be available.

*WordSpace has moved! We’re still in Oak Cliff and our new address is 509 W. Davis St., Suite 100, Dallas, TX 75208–We’re now in the GraphiContent studio and gallery.

January, 2014:  WordSpace and Oak Cliff Cultural Center confirmed the expansion of Youth Poets Workshops (1st Saturdays at Half Price Books).  ADDED:  3rd Saturdays, 4-6 pm, beginning April @ OCCC.  Taught by Dallas Youth Poets founders Joaquin Zihuatanejo and Alexandra Marie Thurston.

July 10: Wha’?! Ben Fountain again? Yes, Ben’s book Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk is being made into a movie. Ben Fountain is a long time WordSpace supporter, former board president and the 2013 winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award.

April 2013: Ben Fountain, also nominated for the Booker Prize

March 4: Paisley Rekdal, winner of the 2013 Rilke Award, $10,000 poetry prize from University of North Texas. Hear her NPR interview. 

March 3: Congratulations to Ben Fountain on receiving the 2012 National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction. Ben has been a long time supporter of WordSapce and a past board president. One of the first readings of Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk was at a WordSpace event .  Read more about the award here

March 26, 2012: Congratulations to original WordSpace ganger, and NEA winner, David Searcy, on nailing a place in Issue 200 of Paris Review.

March 15, 2012: SMU Literary Festival March 21 – 24:
Martha Rhodes, Green Rose Prize, Corey Marks, editor of American Literary Review, Tyehimba Jess, poetry book of the year by Black Issues Book Review, Eduardo Corral, winner of both the 2011 Yale Series of Younger Poets and a Whiting Award. WordSpace will open the Southern Methodist University Literary Festival with WordSpace Student Readings and reception on the 21st.
