Pegasus Series: Octavio Quintanilla & Erica GDLR @Two Bronze Doors

WordSpace  @ Two Bronze Doors presents, our third installment of The Pegasus Reading Series, a new monthly forum for poets and writers to showcase their work in the DFW area. This month we showcase the work of Octavio Quintanilla and a local DFW poet.

Hosted by Sebastian Paramo & Robert Torres. 

We’re very excited to launch this event and to feature writers of both the page and stage!

Octavio Quintanilla’s work has appeared in Salamander, RHINO, Alaska Quarterly Review, Southwestern American Literature, The Texas Observer, Texas Books in Review, and elsewhere. He is a CantoMundo Fellow and holds a PhD from the University of North Texas. Currently, he teaches Literature and Creative Writing in the MA/MFA program at Our Lady of the Lake University. He is a regular interviews contributor to Voices de La Luna: A Quarterly Poetry and Arts Magazine and author of the poetry collection, If I Go Missing (Slough Press, 2014).

Erica Granados De La Rosa also known as Erica GDLR is a spoken word poet, writer, MC, and community organizer. She holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago and an M.A. in Women’s Studies from Texas Women’s University where she published her thesis entitled “Up Next: The Epistemic Power of Spoken Word Poetry”. She has been invited to share her poetry around the country including The Prindle Institute for Ethics, Boston University, The Dallas Museum of Art, The General Commission on the Status and Role of Women, The Texas Democratic Convention, and TEDxUrsulineCollege. She was also the co founder and cohost of DFW’s first and only poetry radio show The Free Word on Deep Ellum On Air.

We invite the audience to participate in a short open mic of poetry or prose following the features.

*Open Mic spaces are limted to 7 slots and are limited to one or two page short poems (3-5 minutes) or two and half pages, double-spaced of prose (3-5 minutes).
