We’re proud to present to you our Pegasus Reading Series at The Reading Room this month!

Pegasus is a new monthly forum for poets and writers to showcase their work in the DFW area. This month we showcase the work of George David Clark and Glenn Shaheen.

George David Clark teaches creative writing and literature in the honors college at Valparaiso University. His first book, Reveille, won the Miller Williams Prize and his recent poems can be found in new issues of Alaska Quarterly Review, The Antioch Review, The Believer, Blackbird, FIELD, The Missouri Review, The Southwest Review, The Yale Review and elsewhere, as well as online at Verse Daily and Poetry Daily. He is the editor of 32 Poems and lives in Indiana with his wife and their two young children.

Glenn Shaheen received his MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Houston. He was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and currently lives in Michigan, where he is a doctoral candidate at Western Michigan University and is a founding editor of Matter: A Journal of Political Poetry and Comment. His book of poems, Predatory, won the Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize and was the finalist for the Norma Farber First Book Award. It is available from the University of Pittsburgh Press. He is also the author of the chapbook of flash fiction,Unchecked Savagery, available from Ricochet Editions. His second collection of poetry, Energy Corridor, is forthcoming from the University of Pittsburgh Press in 2016. His work has appeared in Ploughshares, The New Republic, Subtropics, and elsewhere.
