Laney Yarber is a multi-award winning performance artist and patron of all arts. Her works have been funded by the Texas Commission on the Arts, National Endowment of the Arts and City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, among others. Her lifelong love of opera stages and studies with Robert Wilson all combined with her early passion for the avant garde to inspire a sense of purpose and mission to create performance art. Ms. Yarber has produced and performed some of the most thought provoking (and mind blowing) performances Dallas has ever experienced. Sometimes a singular performer, often in collaboration with Phillip Lamb or sometimes incorporating half the population of artists in Dallas, she weaves together private and personal histories, free associates found and crafted script, accompanies it with statuesque movement, composed audio and visual surprises. Her performances are hypnotic, often witty, and freeing of mind from its former stasis in points of logical reference. A rose is a rose is a rose - is rose a rose?
