Rave Clay is a woodworker and poet. They began writing in middle school and then picked up back up more seriously in college when it became more and more apparent that too much of their community was marginalized and pushed aside. They realized certain things needed to be said, even if they were the only one saying them.
Rave typically writes about gender issues, queer issues, trans* issues, women’s issues, woodworking and the feelings that come and go with life. Despite spending the majority of their childhood in Texas, they will always think of Oklahoma as their home; drawing inspiration from the land as well as those who inhabit it.
They have been published in Quiet Shorts and Austere Magazine. Rave hopes to eventually publish a book of poems, and continue to encourage change, passion and participation in life.
